A Brief Programming Note: Updated URLs

Due to some under-the-hood shenanigans that I won’t even pretend to understand, the URLs for both the blog site and the RSS feed for this blog have had to change. From 4/4/20 forward, the updated URLs are:

Thanks to Katie at Reclaim Hosting for diagnosing and fixing whatever the problem was. Of all the web hosting services I’ve used, Reclaim is hands-down the best and most responsive, and I wholeheartedly recommend them for your hosting needs.

Testing 1, 2, 3…

I have moved my blog from Edublogs to a privately hosted WordPress blog; all old posts and comments have been exported to this new site.  If you subscribe via RSS, you don’t need to change anything; the Feedburner feed has already been redirected.  However, please note the new permanent domain: https://blog.drdamian.org.  The old address – apaceofchange.edublogs.org – will have one final re-direct post, and then will no longer be updated.  I will delete that blog after I get everything set up over here.

If any of you have me linked in your blogroll, I would really appreciate you updating the address, especially now that I plan to actually start blogging again!

The new blog is nothing to look at yet, but I will be playing with the layout & theme over the next few days, but probably more extensively over Winter Break.  Until I pretty it up, well… content is king, right?

Thanks for Sticking Around!

I just logged into Feedburner for the first time in months to see that I actually have more subscribers now than when I was blogging regularly.  So first off, thanks for sticking with me, even when life circumstances have more or less forced me to mothball this place for quite a while.

At any rate, that new job I mentioned in my last post – I start it January 5.  As much as I detest New Year’s resolutions, I’ve been thinking about making a concerted effort to get back into blogging at that time.  When I started here, I was sometimes posting 3-4 times a week.  That frequency dropped off after a while, and now in the last third of this year I think I’ve only managed two or three posts, including this one.

My unofficial New Year’s resolution (let’s call it a New Job resolution instead) is going to be a semi-regular blogging schedule of 2-4 times per month.  If I can set aside time once a week to write a relevant post (as well as a return to form in commenting on your blogs), I’ll be grateful.

I’ve also got a few things I’ve been working on for a while that I’ll be rolling out around that time.  If you’re still with me after the holiday blitzkrieg, I’d like to share as I simultaneously transition between school buildings and career roles.

If I don’t post again til then, have a peaceful and blessed holiday season, and enjoy whatever time you get with your loved ones.

Of Waving and/or Drowning

It’s that time of year again – the end of the American school year is always hectic, and as if you hadn’t figured it out, blogging’s taking a far backseat to my growing personal and professional obligations.  I’m still around on Twitter periodically (as periodically as Twitter will let me, anyway).

Hope to get back to this sooner rather than later.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody

On the eve of my thirtieth Thanksgiving, I am more acutely aware of all the things I have to be thankful for this year than ever before.  One of these is the network of educators in which I’ve become enmeshed in the last three months I’ve been blogging.  Thank you all for providing insight and food for thought here, on other blogs, and on Twitter.  You folks are my 24-7 PD.
Normal service will be resumed post-holiday madness.
